Privacy notice
Your information, handled with care.
This notice explains what SafarScanner collects, why we use it and when an enquiry is passed to a travel operator.
You can browse public package information without giving us your name or contact details.
We pass an enquiry to the selected operator only after you actively agree.
Do not send card, bank, passport or payment information through our enquiry form.
You may ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction where the law provides.
Who is responsible
The organisation operating SafarScanner is the controller for information collected through this website.
Information we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address, message, selected package and the operator you chose.
- Consent record: the time and wording you agreed to when asking us to pass your enquiry on.
- Technical and security data: limited request, error and anti-abuse information needed to operate and protect the service.
- Correspondence: information you send when requesting a correction, exercising a privacy right or contacting us.
Please do not include passport details, payment details, health information or other sensitive information in a general enquiry.
How and why we use it
- To send your enquiry to the specific operator you selected, based on your clear consent.
- To confirm delivery, prevent spam and investigate misuse of the service.
- To respond to support, correction and privacy requests.
- To meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims where necessary.
We do not use enquiry consent as permission to send marketing. An operator’s own privacy notice applies after they receive your information.
Who receives information
Your enquiry is shared with the selected travel operator and not broadcast to multiple operators. Service providers may process limited information for hosting, database, security and email delivery under appropriate agreements. SafarScanner currently uses Cloudflare infrastructure and Supabase database services.
We may disclose information where required by law or to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal information.
Storage, transfers and retention
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, SafarScanner will rely on an applicable safeguard and document the transfer before production use.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, receive portable information, and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not undo lawful use before withdrawal, and SafarScanner cannot retrieve information already acted on by an operator without contacting them.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Children and changes
This comparison service is intended for adults arranging travel. Please do not submit an enquiry if you are under 18. We will update this notice when the service or its data practices materially change and show the review date on this page.
